PROJECT OVERVIEW

For my capstone project I wanted to share a little piece of my dear Mexico which has a very strong connection to who I am as a person and as a designer.

I grew up in a very hard-working household and always surrounded by passion. I was taught to never forget who we are and where do we come from. I felt that as a modern society we often forget our past, culture and traditions. I wanted to embrace the Mexican culture and create a space where people can submerge into a unique cultural experience. A place to enjoy, engage, learn, and collaborate.

Therefore, my project calls for a Cultural Center in the “Cultural Palace” of Mexico City, Mexico. It would be a space that provides a new sense of community; promotes historic preservation and cultural heritage. Welcomes people to a food court market, retail shops, educational/learning facility, as well as a natural healing clinic.

LOGO DEVELOPMENT

Insignia stands for “ignite” or “inspire”. A place where people can taste some of the most authentic Mexican cuisine, shop at hand-crafted retail stores, learn or heal in a natural healing clinic or just explore the cultural experience.
